Just Blue opened it's doors in November 1999.
Initially we focused on education, the rocky shore night adventures and the look
and learn projects were aimed at school kids eager to learn more about the marine
environment.
With time it became apparent that we need to extend our interests. By combining
Shirley's taxonomy skills and Tim's computer skills we have ensured that Just Blue
can now provide an excellent Ascidian identification service.
Shirley Parker-Nance has a Ph. D. in Zoology from the
University of Port Elizabeth. Shirley is currently busy with a post doc on

Tim Parker-Nance has a M.Sc. in Computer Science from the
University of Port Elizabeth. Tim is a software architect focussing on accounting
systems, web applications, biodiversity and taxonomic information systems. View
